Limit Switch Storage Position Sensor

This guide shows you how to set up a Lift Mate Limit Switch Storage Position Sensor for use with the Storage Position Function.  After installing the sensor and enabling it in the Lift Mate App, your lift will automatically send notifications to the administrators phone whenever the boat lift leaves or enters the storage position.  When using the Limit Switch Storage Position Sensor, a Service Position may be achieved by using a user set timed run from the Storage Position.

Please insure your lift is unplugged and powered off during the installation process.

The Limit Switch Sensor typically comes pre-wired to the Lift Mate.  On GEM Remote Control Boxes, the blue wire should be tied into the wire nut connection for the upper limit switch (blue wire) in the GEM box and the red wire should be tied into the common wire from the limit switch (black wire) in the GEM box.

The Limit Switch Sensor typically comes pre-wired to the Lift Mate.  On TEC Remote Control Boxes, the blue wire should be tied into the terminal block connection for the upper limit switch (blue wire typically) in the control box and the red wire should be tied into ground connection in the upper right terminal block (white wire, white terminal block) as shown in the below figure.

TEC Remote Limit Switch Sensor Installation

Go to your Lift Mate App for your boat lift and select the lower right cogwheel icon for tools, then go into Input Configuration.  Scroll down the page and find the Storage Position Sensor Setting.  Toggle the sensor to on (green).  On TEC & Hi-Tide Control Boxes, you must also flip the sensor logic once you enable the limit switch sensors for both the storage position and the lower limit switch position.  Once the storage position is enabled and your Lift Mate is connected to the internet through the WiFi configuration, you will receive notifications when you boat lift leaves and reaches the storage position (upper limit switch).  With the this sensor installed, it can be used to initiate a timed run down to a user set Service Position.  To use this feature, measure the amount of time your lift takes to run from the upper limit switch down to your desired Service position.  Once this time is know, you can enable the timed Service Position settings and slide the timer to measured time to reach your Service Position.  Once set and saved, the Service Position button will be enabled on your device page only when the boat lift is in the Storage Position.  From this point, you may select Service Position on your device page and the timed run down to your Service Position will begin and show the countdown on your device page. Hit the close button to exit and save the settings.

You must make certain your Service Position is never set such that your vessel can be floated off of the boat lift.  For that reason your Service Position should take into account the highest possible tide.

Congratulations, you have successfully installed and enabled your limit switch storage position sensor.
